Let it Fall: A Post-Midsummer Special

Midsummer has passed. The wheel has turned.
From this point forward, the light begins to wane.

In many cultures, Midsummer marks the longest day of the year – the summer solstice, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. It is a time of fire and fullness, of life at its most abundant. But even in that moment of peak light, the descent begins. The sun has nowhere higher to climb.

In the ancient rhythm of the year, Midsummer is the turning point where ripeness gives way to decline. The fruit begins to fall, the stalks bend, the rot sets in, the air shifts, and the shadows begin to lengthen. There is sorrow in brightness, because brightness fades. And anyone who walks the darker path, feels the shift deeply and welcomes it.

With each shortening day, we draw closer to the hush of winter. The earth slows its breath, the noise of growth softens, and in that stillness, something else begins – something older, colder, heavier. Our season lies ahead… Until then, we wait.

This special YouTube medley is our hymn to the waning light: Songs and sacrifices for a passed solstice.
