(((SIGNALS))) Fossile – No King
A signal comes before the full transmission. (((SIGNALS))) is Doomnation Radio’s space for bands to tell us about their new single and what it points toward: why this song came first, where it lives on the album, and what world it carries inside it. Three questions only – the rest is up to them!
Fossile are a stoner doom band from Finland, and “No King” is their debut single, arriving ahead of their first full-length album, due in May 2026. Lanke answered our three questions:
(1) Why did you choose this song as a single?
“It’s a good introduction to our sound, it’s ‘only’ 4 minutes 51 seconds long (radio friendly) and the lyrics are very topical in the current geopolitical climate.”
(2) Where is this song located on the album?
“No King will be the first song on the B-side of our full length LP and the 5th track in our digital release.”
(3) If this song were a scene in a movie, what happens in it?
“The world would be slowly and beautifully blown to pieces while millions of uninterested citizens post their intricately edited selfies.”
